If your a history buff, especially military history, than this Perpetual War History Calendar is an excellent choice. Perpetual calendars are great for those who like to actively track and flip over the pages on a daily basis which also makes this a great office desk calendar companion. The calendar itself is made well and I was impressed with the daily pages material. They are not flimsy and each one has an historical event related to war on each day. They span from ancient to modern times. I was really happy that ancient Roman and Greek battles were among the fact blurbs. Additionally, it doesn't just list the big conflict events, there are many smaller battles that I am learning about each day.It's compact size allows for placement on night tables, desks, or shelves. The pages are wire-bound and glide easily when turned over. The pages are sturdy and won't tear just by turning it, however, it still requires some care that you don't pull off a page. The printing and graphics are clean and detailed with easily readable text and very easy to see dates. You may not be able to read the text from across the room, but you definitely will be able to see the date. The price point is decent and I enjoy using it everyday. Overall, it's a fun daily calendar that helps you learn more about history, I give it five stars!
What a fun, yet educational little daily calendar for your desk or office. It's made of high quality paper, that's very legible so anyone can read it. The design is clever, without using the day that week meaning this calendar can be used year after year after year without being wrong. The size is perfect so it won't take up too much room on your desk and it's available at a very wallet friendly price so get yours while you can!!
My husband is insanely hard to shop for. Especially silly little things like stocking stuffers. He has one more year of the army to go before he retires at 20 years, so this is the perfect gift. He constantly has people in and out of his office, so this will also be a nifty thing for people to see or comment on when they stop by. I like how it’s a perpetual calendar (although I’m not sure how much he’ll want to look at it after he retires…perhaps he can hand it off to the next guy!).

Living in Military City USA (aka San Antonio, TX), we have a large population of active and retired military students at the Library. We support their desire to complete a degree and continue their educational plans at universities. As such, I am always on the hunt for ways to recognize military history both local and global. This perpetual calendar will do just that!The calendar arrived in a colorful box in camo coloring which can be used to store the calendar when not on display. I love the design of the calendar and its large pages with historical events by day. The pages are easy to flip over each day. Each page is printed on good quality paper which should last for a long time with minimal care. The large wired rings are double looped to make it easy to flip the pages. We will be able to set this calendar up at the reference desk next to our newspaper display stand so visitors can also learn about the day in military history.
Looks very promising and exciting! It’s for next year, so I don’t want to fully remove it from its packaging yet in case it gets damaged but it arrived nicely packed and looks like a great idea for history and military buffs. I think it’s cool that’s it’s a perpetual calendar too, which makes it worth more in my mind and a long lasting gift or item. For now I’ve docked a Star simply because as I said, I’m not using it yet and can’t tell the inside quality to ensure that the days are correct and different.

The calendar is a storehouse of military information, and would be a great gift for veteran, current military member or history buff. The quality is excellent and the information correct. This is a great military education for this modest cost.

This is a nice little calendar for the history buff in your life. It's easy to read and gives you a quick "today in history" fact. It is a perpetual calendar, so it isn't tied to a specific year and is more or less just a chronological listing of the days in a year. With that being said, you might be like me and ask "wait, what about leap years?" And thankfully the makers of the calendar thought about this as well. Unfortunately, the solution isn't exactly elegant. They just have a separate page for February 29th. That means that there are actually 366 facts in here, so that also means that if you end up using it as a perpetual calendar, then you'll just have to remember what years are leap years. As far as actually using it as a perpetual calendar, the pages are just standard paper thickness, so I don't think it would really hold up beyond a secondary year.
I love military history and this is a fun way to stay engaged every day. Also, it can be reused year to year because it doesn't have the day of week/year on it, just the month and day. Just keep flipping!One note: almost every one of the pages involves counting war dead, and if you have a young reader who's just learning to read fluently you might end up with a lot of questions.
