Daily tear-off desk calendar delivers daily vocabulary words with pronunciation and definitions. Customers said "great way to learn new words," though many noted significant slang inclusion (delulu, FOMO, girl dinner) disappointed those seeking formal vocabulary building. Positive for teens and modern language; mixed reviews on educational value. Built-in stand, lined backs for notes.

Enshittification? I really wanted to learn really words. Some of these are just more tailored to an urban dictionary.
I buy similar each year. These are a lot of fun, trying to use the new word each day.
Personally very disappointed in this calendar for the amount of slang words included.
pages do not tear off cleanly and leave a jagged edge. Also, the supprt to make the calendar stand up on a desk is very poor. Mine tore after a week of using.
Perfect Christmas gift for my English tutor employee. We often share a laugh about some of the daily words, as there are some new ones we hadn't known from when we were studying vocabulary as young people.
While this calendar has a variety of words it also teaches Gen Z and Gen Alpha slang like “delulu” and “amirite.” I don’t really care for the slang vocab.
Yeah no, I feel like the description was not accurate. Majority of the words I’ve seen have been slang or words you see ALOT online. Said it had carefully crafted words that were obscure and powerful? No. Even the words that aren’t slang are commonly used words. Also I just found it weird to have the word of the day on MLK day to be “Adorkable”…. Yeah real “powerful” stuff….
This was a great purchase since I’ve been living under a rock and have never heard the word “humongous” before. Perfect for old people that have never seen FOMO used, might regift to my grandma.
This is marketed on Amazon, made by what must be a barely literate group whom have never bothered to challenge themselves with a Dictionary. (Troll by thier idiotic definition)Oddly enough, what I have above to refered to a Trolling, a gerand noun of the Verb Troll, which is to lure using bait intent, often used in fishing.A Troll, noun, is (in folklore) an ugly creature depicted as either a giant or a dwarf. This definition has expanded in modern Games, Fiction Literature, and Urban slang. The provided, paid for, definition at best falls in the narrow urban dictionary usage, and forgot any definition that might show the existence of an expanded vocabulary. This ignorance marketed as erudite is both a symptom and cause of the erosion of intelligent discourse. Each side is convinced the other meant absurd statements due to words having no common meaning between them. Now for the AI. Worst. Ugly. Offense. Humorless. Demeaning. For Amazon: I am well past the return window, but I recognize and remember when I have fallen for a bait and switch con. If incompetence were criminal, then I would file a complaint elsewhere...
Edit: seems like for February the words are getting better so will review for final opinion at the end of the yearOld: Really disappointed and it is now even the end of January. It is mostly slang words. I was trying to improve my vocabulary, but doesn’t look like that happening with this. I feeling like they are trolling me.
I was expecting some fun and challenging words. Well, 20 days into the year and so far there’s been “e-commerce” “adorkable” and “girl dinner.” Lame. Also, their website and social handle are printed on every page.
I like the layout and how it is presented, but there are many words in this list that are...shall we say ridiculous and will make you a laughing stock if you try to use them in educated or professional settings.
It's early in the year yet but I'm not impressed so far. There have been some good words but nothing very unusual really. But then "girl dinner"? It's an internet slang and ridiculous to put this is in a calender meant to improve vocabulary. It "gave me the ick".
These are NOT dictionary words and include TRIGGER words. "Words" include Brangelina, Beast Mode and Beach Read. Worse, it had Girl Dinner, which is an anorexic term. The "real words" are the same day/list as Merriam Webster online. I gave it as a gift and was embarrassed when recipient let me know.
This 2026 Word of the Day Daily Calendar is a perfect way to have a little something fun to look forward to on your desk or at your cubicle. Not only is it a functional calendar, but you get to build your vocabulary a little by challenging yourself to incorporate some uncommon words into your day to day. One word a day - maybe you already know some maybe you don't - adds up to a ton of new words for the year 2026.
Daily calendar to learn by.This was acquired and given as a Christmas gift. The calendar is a bit more than 4 inches by 4 inches, so it doesn't take up too much space on a desk. The backing on the last page is cardboard that has a cut-out in it so with a simple fold, it creates its own stand. The days are all dark in color rather than dark text on a white background. That need not be bad, but some may not prefer that combo. Each day has the day of the week, the date, and, of course, the word of the day with the pronunciation, word type, holiday (when appropriate), and definition.
